Where in the world does one get an invitation code for demonoid? There's a million members or something, you'd think invitations would be floating around somewhere but google has proven useless.

I lost all my lj friends on AIM and I'm AIM-lonely now. Message me at pro or conor so I can re-add you and we can be friends again. This goes for everybody!
I also miss AIM chat rooms with like 10 LJ people in em. Good times.
However, somewhere along the line I stopped doing that. I stopped posting frequently and stopped reading LJ frequently and really stopped commenting almost entirely. The result has been that I don't have much of a dialogue with anybody on the internet anymore. My internet usage has become mostly one-directional, with me fucking around and browsing news and blogs and message boards and so on and never really engaging, and it's a much less satisfying internet existence.
I have often justified spending a shitload of time on the internet as just being a different form of socializing, where there is just as much communication as in real life. Usually much more communication in fact, and much more really significant discussion and less mindless chit-chat than most people have in real life. But I realize that the less dialogue there is, as I act more as a passive observer, the more legitimate criticisms of "wasting time" on the internet are, and for a while now I really have been just wasting time on the internet.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I miss talking to you guys.
The outdoor stage has a better line-up but it's been raining on and off tonight and I'll be damned if I'm going to stand out in the rain all night.
Road trip! Jonathan and I and his sisters are in beautiful (?) Cedar City, Utah for the day. On the agenda: Pumpkin festival, livestock and heritage festival (with quilting expo!) and sheep parade.

Yeah, I'll get over missing Coachella. I am sort of hoping for the lineup to be terrible though, just out of spite.
It also helps ease the pain a little bit that for the first time in forever, Vegas has a few decent acts visiting. This week I'm seeing current one hit wonders the Ting Tings before they disappear into obscurity forever.
In November I'm seeing The Faint, who just released a pretty good new album after a several-year hiatus.
But there are more exciting things than that. December 29 marks the day that I will see Girl Talk here in Vegas. Girl Talk was possibly the absolute highlight for me of Coachella 2 years ago, and since then he's released a great new album, Feed the Animals, that I think is about as good as Night Ripper (which defines "fun party music"). And he's had like half a year to come up with even more new shit since then. At Coachella, as soon as his set began the crowd rushed the stage, and the entire set was a wild and crazy dance party, and I'm looking forward to more of that here.
But before that, in just 3 weeks, I'll be at my first little pseudo-rave, Fabulous Fest. It's not a real rave because it's in a casino arena instead of a warehouse and the drug of choice will be $12 rum and cokes, but it's got a pretty great line-up of electronic acts that we rarely see in Vegas. In case you don't know, there is almost no electronic music to be found in Vegas and the clubs play top 40 hits exclusively. I'm really looking forward to going out and not hearing Beyonce or whatever. Best of Fabulous Fest includes MSTRKRFT, SebastiAn, Deadmau5, and Crystal Castles.
Finally, since I'm not going to Coachella next year, please recommend a different music festival I should attend.
Diesel has always had pretty great ads but I think this is the best ever.
We don't have the beach or trees in Las Vegas so this was particularly fun. Somebody in my journal left a comment recommending we take a little 10 minute hike just north of Brookings, Oregon.

We've been together 4 years but this is probably like one of 5 photos we actually appear in together. We seriously never use our cameras.

This is my friend Marcio's cat, Oscar Wilde. This is from right before we went on vacation, but we have about a million pictures so I'm just going to be doing picture posts for like the next month, be warned.
We are in Chinatown in Vancouver, Canada! This is a nice little park. We just got here but I think I like Vancouver more than Seattle already.
If
kimlett gets a hold of me within 36 hours I will find her and say hello.
Jonathan fed them a leaf and one of them licked his hand.
Whee, adventure!
Oh my God so cute. Otters are the best animals.
We're at the Seattle aquarium. This dude is pretty awesome, but we're 99% just here for the otters.
We're at Pioneer Square in Seattle about to do the underground walking tour. We're shamelessly touristy. Apparently we're not the only ones though because the place is packed.
Also, this whole damn city is closed on the weekends. Having the whole city be open 24/7 is one thing I've gotten too used to in Vegas. We had to resort to Starbucks because every little cute local café is CLOSED. Way to be bad at business, locals!
Police Officer: I told you already and if I see you again tonight I'm gonna fuck you up
Homeless Crazy Man: For what
Police Officer: For being an asshole
Dude had his club out and everything.
